Thought on The Great Gatsby?

I was just wondering if anybody else felt that this piece was sort of ahead of its time. I am a junior and I had to read it for Lit. and I LOVED it and the whole time I was reading I kept thinking how the book didnt feel nearly a hundred years old and how the ideas didnt feel out dated. I guess maybe another word would be timeless. Anyone else have any thoughts?
