How to wax a wooden snowboard?

A person my mom works with gave me a never used 1995 Lamar ranquet snowboard. It has a completely wooden base, its uncoated, and just feels like wood when you touch it. the wood looks really dry, i was wondering if im supposed to was it, if so how and with what? thanks.
