I was prescribed an inhaler for bronchitis and it's causing a lot of strange noises?

So, I've had bronchitis for 8 days now and the worst part is the wheezing I hear from my middle of chest and even throat area, which makes me unable to lie flat to sleep. My doctor prescribed an inhaler and it has slightly cleared the phlegm. All I hear are crackly noises from my throat and chest. Is that the inhaler working? I've coughed some but not enough to stop the crackly noises. I NEVER had bronchitis before and I'm worried because I'm a stem cell transplant survivor. I contracted bronchitis by my sister who contracted it by a coworker. I'm nervous because of the crackly noises I hear all day. Any advice, please.
