Do you think conservatives will wake up one day and say, "I am ready to accept that we lost..."?

They will wake up and face reality eventually. But it's pretty clear they aren't ready to do that yet. Look at the GOP activists on this site - they completely believe that the failure of 2001 - 2008 was entirely the personal failings of George Bush and tells us nothing about conservatism, and that as soon as they embrace a more full-throated and aggressive right-wing position, the Republicans will retake both houses of Congress in 2010. The Republican return to reality based politics certainly won't happen until after they get slaughtered again in the 2010 midterms, and quite likely not until Obama is re-elected in 2012.
